Project Overview: Colonial Kitchen Overhaul
The owners of this 1920s colonial loved their home but not the narrow galley kitchen. They wanted room for an island, more light, and a space where the kids could do homework while dinner cooked.
The Plan
We removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room, installed a flush LVL beam, and relocated the sink to a new 9-foot island. Cabinets run to the ceiling for storage, and a wider window over the range brings in afternoon light.
Build & Finishes
Shaker cabinetry in warm white, honed quartz counters, a zellige-style backsplash and white-oak flooring matched to the original. The project wrapped one week ahead of schedule and passed all township inspections on the first visit.
